Oddin.gg is the global leader in B2B esports betting solutions. We are delivering an end-to-end ecosystem to bookmakers across the globe. Operators partnering with Oddin.gg can attract a new generation of bettors, drive betting volumes 24/7, and improve sportsbook profitability.
 

We work with purely esports titles such as Dota2, LoL, as well as esports analogues of traditional sports like FIFA (soccer), NBA2K (basketball), and more. Based on the data we have available, we create and continuously improve mathematical models that help us predict match
odds.
 

With a team of 200+ people, based in the Czech Republic and many other locations across Europe and Asia, Oddin.gg is growing at a fast pace and is looking for an experienced developer.

Your position on the drakkar:

Oddin is summoning a Viking or a Valkyria to join the raid as an experienced leader to join our team and help our software engineers to develop and maintain multi-threaded distributed applications, mentor them, help them grow and provide them with constructive feedback so that the team can achieve their goals in the best way possible. The journey also includes coming up with innovative solutions, participating in implementing the latest trends and technologies and on the whole improve the performance and results of the development team.


Beware! You will not only be sitting in the hall drinking mead and "managing" by giving orders, your tasks will also cover more routine tasks such as code reviews, and a hands-on approach is essential.
 

Concerning your duties:

  • Lead and manage one or multiple teams of 6-8 software engineers responsible for developing, maintaining, and deploying microservices within a low-latency platform using Golang, AWS, SQL and NoSQL DBs, gRPC, or Kafka
  • Define, oversee, and improve agile ceremonies to ensure timely and predictable delivery of software products in accordance with the company’s roadmap
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the team’s performance metrics
  • Identify areas for improvement within the teams, way of working, or technologies, and implement strategies to address them
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Mentor and coach junior engineering managers, helping them develop their leadership and management skills
  • Closely collaborate within cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quant engineers, to ensure alignment and achieve delivery goals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the software industry
  • Champion diversity and inclusion within the multinational team spread across Europe
  • Accountable for performance management of direct reports, helping them define and achieve their growth

The honed abilities and seasoned wisdom thou shalt require:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong background on the backend side and cloud
  • Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products in a timely and predictable manner, at least 3 years
  • Experience with Scrum and other Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, able to tackle complex product and technical challenges
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach junior engineers, helping them grow and develop their skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Passion for software development and a desire to create innovative solutions that make a positive impact on the world
